Helpful Tips for Sensitive Skin

If you have sensitive skin, you know that the wrong choice can turn a period into a week of discomfort. I’ve been there, and I know how frustrating irritation and rashes can be.

Whether you prefer a menstrual cup, tampons or pads, breathability, comfort and carefully selected materials can make a real difference. I’ve selected some of the most popular options from each category to help you build a routine that feels gentle on sensitive skin. You don’t have to compromise on protection to feel comfortable during your period.

Sensitive Skin Hygiene Checklist

  • Change products regularly: Follow the recommended wear time for your pad, tampon or menstrual cup. Changing products as needed can help reduce prolonged moisture, friction and discomfort.
  • Keep it gentle: Wash the external intimate area with water or a mild, fragrance-free cleanser as needed. When you are away from home, our unscented bamboo wet wipes offer a convenient way to freshen up.
  • Avoid harsh soaps: Strongly scented or alkaline soaps may irritate sensitive skin. Choose a mild, fragrance-free product such as our intimate hygiene foam, designed for gentle external cleansing.
  • Care for your cup: Clean your menstrual cup according to the manufacturer’s instructions and sterilise it between cycles. Store it in the breathable cotton pouch included with the cup.
  • Follow the instructions: Always check the manufacturer’s recommendations for wear time, cleaning and care to make sure each product is used correctly.
  • Choose breathable underwear: Whenever possible, opt for soft, breathable underwear made with materials such as cotton or TENCEL™ fibres. A comfortable fit can also help reduce friction and irritation.
  • Listen to your body: If you notice persistent itching, burning, soreness, unusual discharge or another new symptom, stop using the product and seek advice from a healthcare professional.
